Our winter pledge drive ends at the Blind Donkey (149 Linden Ave.) for our second happy hour in as many months. Join our editor Brian Addison, one of the co-founders of the original LongBeachize, Baktaash Sorkhabi, and other Long Beach dignitaries to celebrate 2014 and the rebirth of Long Beach’s own independent news source for planning, open space, urban design and transportation news. The party starts at 5:30 and goes until 8:00. Drink specials, again, courtesy of New Belgium Brewing.

There is no cost to attend, but this is a non-profit celebrating the end of a pledge drive so maybe visit our donation page and share some green with us this holiday season?

As a special enticement, we’ll be raffling off a one-of-a-kind LongBeachize t-shirt (we’ll be ordering it to the size specifications of the winner). Once the shirt is ordered, we’re going to pull that design off our Cafe Press site, so the winner will be the only person to have the LongBeachize shirt with that specific design and color. Unless you pick this one. My wife already has this one.

So join us for drinks and a happy hour to close our first year of publishing the “new” LongBeachize and help us get ready for an even bigger 2015.

Free news isn’t cheap.

We're 0% of the way toward meeting today's goal!

We believe that everyone should have access to important local news, for free.

However, it costs money to keep a local news organization like this one—independently owned and operated here in Long Beach, without the backing of any national corporation—alive.

If independent local news is important to you, please consider supporting us with a monthly or one-time contribution. Read more.
