WalletHub Ranks Long Beach 2nd Most Diverse City in America

WalletHub announced its ranking of Long Beach as the second most diverse city in America yesterday, just behind Los Angeles.

The personal finance social network evaluated the cities by four major categories: economic class diversity, ethno-racial and linguistic diversity, economic diversity and household diversity.

Long Beach ranked 29th in the country in economic class diversity, ninth in the country in ethno-racial and linguistic diversity, 38th in the country in diversified economies and 25th in the country for household diversity.

The city also ranked in the top 20 for measures of educational diversity (18th) and racial and ethnic diversity (18th).

The study listed the top 10 most diverse cities in the nation as:

1. Los Angeles, California
2. Long Beach, California
3. San Diego and Anaheim, California (tied)
4. Sacramento, California
5. Renton, Washington
6. Houston, Texas and Kent, Washington (tied)
7. Bakersfield, California
8. Federal Way, Washington
