USPS to Hold Public Meeting to Discuss Proposed Relocation of 2300 Redondo Site

10173744 10152429905704810 2367914538082470720 nThe U.S. Postal Service announced last week its proposal to relocate the Post Office currently located at 2300 Redondo Avenue to a “yet-to-be-determined location as close as reasonably possible to the current site.”

Story continued below.

The relocation project would include full continuity of service and would consist of procuring a suitable alternate location, according to the release, preparing the new location for use while transitioning services to the new space.

Retail services would remain at the 2300 Redondo Avenue location until the new Post Office is fully functional.

Post Office Box numbers and the ZIP code would not change.

If the plan to relocate moves forward, USPS anticipates selling the facility formerly known as the Long Beach Processing & Distribution Center after the relocation of services takes place.

USPS will also complete a process set forth in Title 39 Code of Federal Regulations 241.4, which requires notifying elected officials and the local community and solicits the public, according to the release.

A public meeting will be held to discuss the proposal with patrons and receive comments on Tuesday, November 24 in the Post Office lobby at 2300 Redondo Avenue. Postal officials will be present from 10:00AM until 12:00PM to meet with those interested.

Comments will also be accepted via mail through December 24, submitted to:
