No Injuries in Garage Fire that Erupted in Long Beach’s MacArthur Park Neighborhood

A garage fire hit an apartment unit in the Macarthur Park neighborhood of Long Beach this afternoon, resulting in no injuries or requests for relocation assistance according to Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) officials.

LBFD spokesman Jake Heflin said firefighters were dispatched at 3:34PM regarding a fire that began at 1500 Gaviota Avenue.

Heflin said four engine units were sent, including a paramedic, as part of its Rapid Intervention Crew.

The fire was confined to the garage and extinguished at 3:45. The crew left the scene by 5:21PM, said Heflin.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
