An interfaith vigil against gun violence is scheduled to be held tomorrow evening in downtown Long Beach on the fourth anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
The vigil will be held Wednesday, December 14. Supporters will meet at Drake Park, located at 951 Maine Avenue, at 5:00PM, walk one mile to Harvey Milk Promenade Park, at 212 East Third Street, for a 6:00PM vigil, and end at First Congregational Church, located at 241 Cedar Avenue.
“Help stand against gun violence by attending an interfaith Long Beach vigil acknowledging the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting and calling for gun violence prevention measures,” read a Facebook event page created by the Organizing for Action, Greater Long Beach Chapter.
Organizers said participants can park at public parking structure near Harvey Milk Promenade Park or find street parking near the church. Guests will also be treated to hot cider and can learn more on how to take action to prevent gun violence.
