2:30PM | The Press-Telegram has reported that the victim of the accident between two vehicles last Saturday has been identified as F. Phil Infelise, a long-time Long Beach volunteer and banker.

May 26, 10:30AM | This past Saturday at around 1:45PM, officers discovered an unconscious 89-year-old Long Beach resident trapped inside a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis, which had collided with a 1995 Lexus ES300. After being extracted by fire department personnel, the victim was pronounced deceased at a nearby hospital.

The accident occurred at South Street and Downey Avenue in North Long Beach. Investigators believe that the Grand Marquis was struck by the eastbound Lexus—driven by a 19-year-old Compton resident who walked away from the accident uninjured—while attempting to exit a parking lot onto South Street.

The identity of the deceased has not been released.

Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to call Long Beach Police Department Collision Investigation Detail Detective Steve Fox at (562) 570-7355.
