As a member of a visionary team of commissioners and staff, I’m honored to inform you that the Sustainable City Commission has launched its website.

The website provides a convenient, one-stop-location to learn about the City’s green programs and initiatives.  The site also provides tips and resources for actions residents and businesses can take to create a clean, green community.

This website also includes information about the Sustainable City Commission, a green City organizational chart, a green City map and multiple resources relating to buildings and neighborhoods, urban nature, transportation, water, energy, waste reduction and eco products and services, click here to check it out!

The Sustainable City Commission is composed of eleven members that advises the City Council on environmental issues such as buildings and neighborhoods, urban nature, transportation, water, energy, waste reduction and eco products and services, and is responsible for creating a Sustainable City action plan.  I’m so honored to serve as a member of such prestigious commission!

Commissioners are:
•    Andrea White
•    Lisa Wibroe
•    Joan Greenwood
•    Carolyn Shadle
•    Robin Thorne
•    Daryl Supernaw
•    Sera Grossman
•    Jill Brennan
•    Andrew Kincaid, Chair of the Commission
•    Susana Gonzalez, Vice Chair of the Commission

We meet every 4th Thursday of the month in the City Council Chambers 333 W. Ocean Blvd in Long Beach.  These are public meetings and members of the public are encouraged to attend.  Of course we encourage the use of public transportation!

The commission’s work would not be possible without our amazing staff.  A special “thank you” to Larry Rich, Meredith Reynolds and Alfre Vaille.
