Following the departure of Mario Rodriguez, the City of Long Beach has appointed Deputy City Manager Reginald “Reggie” Harrison to the position of Interim Airport Director for the Long Beach Airport (LGB) as the City begins its nationwide search for a formal replacement.
“Reggie has a proven history of stepping in to provide management and leadership skills whenever necessary,” said West in a press release. “The airport will be in good hands and continue to provide excellent service as we conduct our search.”
That search to fill the shoes of Rodriguez will not necessarily be easy: having served LGB since 2009, Rodriguez’s tenure brought about some of the most significant and important changes the municipal airport has seen in decades.
Rodriguez now acts as Executive Director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority in Indiana.
