Election Day is Nov. 6.

Continuing its campaign to raise awareness of the April 8 primary election, Long Beach City Clerk’s office announced the release of its new mobile app, Vote Long Beach.

VoteLongBeach2imagePreviewWith Vote Long Beach, both iPhone and Android users can locate their polling place, read their designated sample ballot booklet, apply and track their vote-by-mail ballot and view an ongoing countdown to the next city election. After polls close at 8PM on April 8, the app will also be a place to view live election results.

The app is part of the City Clerk’s comprehensive voter-awareness campaign, which launched earlier this month with street banners, bus shelter posters, online videos, social media postings and online advertising that encourage Long Beach residents to “Express Yourself” through voting. The campaign is also being promoted through the use of the Charles Wright song, “Express Yourself.”

Vote Long Beach joins the City’s growing family of mobile apps, which provides residents with quick resources and enhanced services for police, libraries, animal care and the airport.

The election contests are for the offices of Mayor, City Auditor, City Attorney, City Prosecutor, City Council Districts 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9, Long Beach Unified School District offices 1 and 3, and Long Beach Community College District Trustee Areas 1, 3 and 5.
