Long Beach Police Investigating Weekend Non-Fatal Stabbing of Man

Police are investigating the stabbing of a man in Long Beach early Saturday morning, authorities said.

Officers responded to Long Beach Boulevard and Ellis Street at about 3:35AM on Saturday, September 19.

The victim—who called police—said he was approached by someone and stabbed in the upper body, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokesperson Nancy Pratt said.

Authorities said the man, who appeared to be under the influence, was unable to provide more details about the incident.

He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Pratt added.
