Torrance Police Department (TPD) Sgt. Paul Kranke said Ogletree also attempted to rob two Torrance restaurants unsuccessfully Sunday morning before moving on to Rancho Palos Verdes.

Deputies from the sheriff’s Lomita Station were dispatched at 12:48PM Sunday to the Rite Aid pharmacy on a call regarding a man threatening a cashier with a gun, according to authorities.

Though no gun was seen, the robber fled the store with cash, taking off in his car.

Later, deputies found a silver Jaguar driven by the suspect that had crashed at Torrance Boulevard and Portola Avenue into trees. They took the man into custody.

Ogletree is currently behind bars, with bail set at $50,000.

Kranke said earlier in the day, Ogletree had attempted to rob a Hoff’s Hut on Crenshaw Boulevard and a Y Not Burgers on Hawthorne Boulevard, simulating the use of a weapon in each case, though no gun was seen.
