A 42-year-old Rolling Hills Estates man was arrested Tuesday by Long Beach police and FBI agents for allegedly impersonating a police officer in multiple counties across the state, authorities said.

Jayson Paul Carter was arrested on Tuesday, February 23 at about 9:00AM by detectives from the Long Beach Police Department’s Drug Investigations Section, with the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, when they served a search warrant at his Rolling Hills Estates residence, according to an LBPD release.

Detectives recovered false identifications representing state and federal law enforcement agencies and are looking for any more information of persons who may have been detained by Carter while he was impersonating an officer or agent.

Officials said Carter may have contacted individuals within San Diego and Los Angeles counties and the Northern California area.

Carter was booked into Long Beach Jail for impersonating a police officer and carrying a concealed loaded firearm. His bail was set at $35,000 and he posted bond later that day.
