Police are looking for an attacker who stabbed a man in Bixby Knolls and then fled early Tuesday morning.

The man was stabbed in the upper body and the lower torso, but the wounds weren’t life-threatening, police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital, LBPD spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria said.

Few details were available on the attack, but authorities said it happened around 12:30 a.m. at Orange Avenue and San Antonio Drive.

The suspect was last seen headed north on Orange Avenue. The attacker and the suspect know each other, according to police.

“The motive for the incident is still under investigation and is not believed to be gang related at this time,” Chavarria said. The LBPD defines gang-related crime as any crime committed “for the benefit of, at the direction of or in association with any criminal street gang.”
