UPDATE | The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors renewed a $10,000 reward for information regarding the man who fatally shot 50-year-old Seaborn Mason in front of a North Long Beach convenience store in 2012.

The reward reward was set to expire January 21, and will be good for at least another 90 days.

1/12/16 at 4:36PM | Though expected to renew the reward leading to information about the man who fatally shot 50-year-old Seaborn Mason in front of a North Long Beach convenience store in 2012, the vote was pushed back to next week, according to City News Service.

The reward is still set to expire January 21.

1/12/16 at 16:38PM | The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors announced the renewal today of a $10,000 reward for information regarding the man who fatally shot 50-year-old Seaborn Mason in front of a convenience store in North Long Beach in 2012.

The reward, first offered in 2012, was set to expire January 21 and will be available for at least another 90 days.

Mason’s murder was one of several during the violent summer months of 2012 and the third in as many days at the end of July.

At around 11:19PM on Monday, July 23, the Long Beach Police Department responded to a shooting call in the 400 block of East South Street and found Mason with several gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No one reported hearing an argument or seeing the fight before the shots were fired, though surveillance video showed several people in the area at the time of the shooting, according to investigators.

Shortly following the shooting, Mason’s family members and investigators canvassed the area of the murder and distributed flyers notifying residents of the offer.
