The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors renewed $10,000 rewards on Tuesday for information leading to arrests and convictions in two unrelated fatal shootings in Long Beach.

The rewards—set to expire November 15—were recommended to be extended by Supervisor Don Knabe.

On July 25, 2014, shortly before 11:00PM, Olatago Filemoni, 25, was shot several times while he was talking with friends in front of his home on the 3200 block of Baltic Avenue.

Filemoni died at a local hospital three days later from the drive-by shooting.

The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) stated someone inside the vehicle had shouted out a gang phrase, but no one in Filemoni’s group was in a gang, so they did not respond.

Anyone with information was asked to call LBPD detectives Greg Krabbe or Mark McGuire at 562.570.7244.

At 11:30PM on June 28, Long Beach police found 35-year-old Iran Francisco Maese lying face-down and bleeding from the head on a staircase in the back of an apartment complex at 727 Linden Avenue.

Maese, who was a homeless man with family in Long Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone with information about the Maese shooting was asked to call Long Beach homicide Detectives Mark Bigel or Sean Irvinv at 562.570.7244.

The LBPD has also released surveillance footage of a suspect linked to Maese’s murder.
