Logan MugshotA domestic disturbance call in Long Beach Monday led to the arrest of a man suspected of fatally stabbing a Costa Mesa resident in Santa Ana the day before, authorities announced.

Long Beach resident Logan James Cunningham, 27, was arrested without incident and booked on a homicide charge with a bail set at $1 million, according to a release from the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD).

Police responded to the domestic disturbance call at a Long Beach residence on Monday, August 8 when they came into contact with Cunningham, according to officials. After a record search showed him as a possible suspect wanted in the Santa Ana homicide, the Long Beach officers made a call to the SAPD, who confirmed the warrant for his arrest.

Santa Ana authorities said Cunningham is suspected of fatally stabbing 40-year-old Costa Mesa resident Jason Paul Torres.

On Sunday, August 7 at 9:07PM, SAPD officers responded to a stabbing call near the Circle K convenience store at 710 East Dryer Road, the release stated. Officers found Torres and a nearby crime scene.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, officials stated. SAPD homicide detectives responding to the scene determined Cunningham as the suspect.

SAPD Homicide Detectives are asking anyone with information on this case to contact the Santa Ana Police Department at 714.245.8390.
