Just two weeks after a routine traffic stop led to the seizure of more than 80 pounds of cocaine and other drugs from a home in North Long Beach, the Long Beach Police Department has announced another arrest and the recovery of approximately 120 pounds of cocaine from two locations.

On March 3, an investigation into drug trafficking led Long Beach detectives to the 9300 block of Telegraph Road in Downey where 32 kilos of cocaine were found along with $14,000 in cash. Two people, 34-year-old Carlos Mendoza Osuna and 31-year-old Mario Coadras Chavez, were arrested and charged with possession of cocaine for sale.

The next day, investigators served a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of West Del Amo in Long Beach where 22 kilos of cocaine, $80,000 cash, a rifle and a handgun were recovered. No one was arrested, however, and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding narcotics activity is urged to contact the Long Beach Police Department Drug Investigations Section at (562) 570-7221.  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or text TIPLA plus your tip to 274637 (CRIMES), or visit www.LACrimeStoppers.org.
