Long Beach police arrested a 23-year-old man Thursday night following calls of a shooting in the city’s Willmore neighborhood, authorities said.

Officers responded to the 1200 block of Chestnut Avenue at about 8:00PM regarding a shots fired call, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Nancy Pratt.

After establishing a containment area, police were able to locate and arrest a suspect, described only as a 23-year-old Long Beach man. He was taken into custody without incident and booked for assault with a deadly weapon and for an outstanding warrant in connection with driving on a suspended license, she said.

No one was struck by gunfire.
