A Long Beach man was booked for murder after authorities found a 68-year-old woman fatally stabbed in a Long Beach residence, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD). 

Officers were called to assist Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) personnel at 12:49PM on Saturday, May 21 with a dead person inside a residence on the 1100 block of Locust Avenue, LBPD officials stated.

“Arriving officers found a female adult who sustained a stab wound to the torso,” an LBPD release stated. “Homicide detectives responded to begin their investigation.”

The victim was identified as Long Beach resident Margarita Valdez Castro, 68. 

The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Luis Antonio Jimenezmolina of Long Beach. 

He is being held in Long Beach City Jail with bail set at $2 million. 

Officials do not believe the incident was random but do not know the motive for the stabbing at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
