A Long Beach man was charged with murder on Tuesday in connection with a fatal gang-related shooting in June that left a 20-year-old dead, authorities announced.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office charged Luis Jerardo Reyes, 27, with with murder, attempted murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle, and a gang enhancement, on Tuesday, November 24, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

Authorities said Reyes is connected with the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Long Beach resident Anthony Holston.

On June 5, officers responded to the 1200 block of East 17th Street at about 10:00PM where they found Holston with gunshot wounds in the upper body.

Police believed Holston and a group male suspects had been in a dispute before they exchanged gunfire.

Long Beach officers arrested Reyes on Friday, November 20 after an extensive investigation.

The suspect is currently being held in Los Angeles County Jail on a $3 million bail.
