A man was stabbed in downtown Long Beach Wednesday night after a confrontation with two other men, authorities said.

Police responded to Atlantic Avenue, near First Street, on Wednesday, August 26, at about 11:15PM, regarding a stabbing, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Megan Zabel said.

Arriving officers learned a man had sustained stab wounds after the altercation with two other men. The victim was then transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The motive for this incident is unclear and remains under investigation.

No arrests have been made, officials said.
