UPDATE | A robbery suspect remains at large after police closed a strip of Willow Street in Long Beach Thursday afternoon in search of the person but came up empty, authorities said.

Officers reopened Willow Street, between Golden and Magnolia avenues, after 2:00PM after an unknown trouble call at a business on the 600 block of West Willow Street at about 12:25PM on Thursday. 

The suspect was considered “gone on arrival,” Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokesman Brad Johnson said.

3/3/16 at 2:07PM | Long Beach police were searching for an alleged robbery suspect Thursday afternoon, forcing the closure of Willow Street in the city’s Wrigley neighborhood, authorities said.

Officers responded to an unknown trouble call at a business on the 600 block of West Willow Street at about 12:25PM on Thursday, March 3, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Nancy Pratt.

Police determined a robbery appeared to have happened at the business, based on information gathered, she said. A perimeter was initially established on eastbound Willow Street, from Long Beach (710) Freeway to Golden Avenue, and updated about an hour later to Willow Street in both directions, between Golden and Magnolia avenues.
