A man and woman were hospitalized after they were shot in the city’s Addams neighborhood today, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

The shooting took place near Locust Avenue and Del Amo Boulevard at about 1:00AM on Tuesday, December 13, LBPD spokesman Sgt. Brad Johnson said.

Arriving officers found the female victim with a gunshot wound to her upper body and the male victim with a gunshot wound to his hand, according to Johnson.

The pair were in a vehicle when they were shot, said LBPD Lt. David Faris.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital where the woman is in critical condition and the man is in stable condition, according to authorities.

The investigation is ongoing, Johnson said.
