UPDATE | A man suspected of murdering the mother of his children yesterday, as well as the woman he allegedly killed, both found yesterday, have been identified, officials announced today.
According to a release issued by the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD), the dead woman was identified as Karina Duch, a 40-year-old resident of Los Angeles. The man suspected of killing her, as he was found holding a knife and had incurred a self-inflicted knife wound, was identified as Ngounsay Keo, a 59-year-old resident of Long Beach.
Keo was transported to the hospital after officers used non-lethal methods to subdue him (he had been uncooperative). After undergoing surgery, he is currently listed in critical condition.
He has been booked for one count of murder, with bail set at $2 million.
The report stated the two individuals had been in a dating relationship for 23 years and had two children together—a 14 and seven-year-old. At the time of the murder, the seven-year-old was next door and has since been reunited with his family and sibling, police stated.
Keo is the primary suspect in this incident, according to the LBPD.

PREVIOUSLY: Long Beach Police Arrest Man Armed with Knife; Discover Dead Woman
On 04/14/16 | A man armed with a knife and suffering from a stab wound was arrested Tuesday afternoon by Long Beach police near MacArthur Park, shortly before they discovered the dead body of a woman on the premises.
According to Sgt. Bradley Johnson of the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD), officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Stanley Avenue regarding an unknown trouble call at 12:50PM.
When officers arrived, they discovered a man with a stab wound, who was also armed with a knife. He was uncooperative and refused multiple commands to drop his weapon and let the police inside the residence, according to Johnson.
Officers then used non-lethal force options to take the subject into custody where he could receive medical attention and subsequently entered the premises.
Once inside, police discovered the body of a dead woman in another part of the residence.
According to Johnson, the man was transported to a local hospital by the Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) to a local hospital, where he is undergoing surgery and listed in critical condition. He is being considered a possible suspect in the incident, and the relationship between the subject and the dead woman has not yet been confirmed.
Johnson said homicide detectives are still at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
