Police on Wednesday arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a shooting that left a man wounded last month in Long Beach, according to authorities.

The shooting happened around 7 p.m. Nov. 7 near 20th Street and Pine Avenue, police said.

A gunman approached the victim and opened fire before fleeing on foot, according to authorities.

Police said detectives arrested 23-year-old Daniel Marquez in connection with the shooting, which left the victim with injuries that weren’t life-threatening. Marquez is also accused of violating his parole.

Marquez lives in Long Beach but is a transient, according to jail records.

Police couldn’t immediately provide any more details about what may have prompted the shooting.

Marquez was being held without bail, according to jail records.
