A man with a warrant out for his arrest was apprehended by Long Beach police after he briefly fled on foot Tuesday, authorities said.

Officers initiated a vehicle stop near Long Beach Boulevard and 20th Street at about 11:30AM on Tuesday, May 24, according to Marlene Arrona of the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

The occupant fled on foot and a containment perimeter was established, she said. Police eventually took the suspect into custody on the 1900 block of Pine Avenue.

The investigation remains ongoing.
