Police are investigating the shooting death of a man found on a sidewalk at 2 a.m. Saturday morning.

Officers and paramedics were sent to the 500 block of Rhea Street and found the victim, who had been shot in the upper torso, on a sidewalk in front of a home, police said.

He was determined dead at the scene by the Long Beach Fire Department, authorities said.

He was identified late Friday as Robert Derel Moore, 39, of Long Beach, coroner’s Lt. Nani Cholakians said.

Police do not have suspect information available and it is unknown what the motive is or if the shooting was gang-related, authorities said.
