A man was shot at Sunday night in Admiral Kidd Park in Long Beach during an alleged gang-related shooting, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officials said.

The victim and a woman were in the park when they were approached by two men, authorities said.

They engaged in a brief conversation before one of the men pulled out a gun and began shooting at the man and woman.

Officers were dispatched on Sunday, June 28, at 11:30PM where they found the victim with what appeared to be a non-life threatening injury after being struck in the upper torso by gunfire, officials said.

Police are investigating the incident as possibly gang-related.
