UPDATE | A Long Beach man has been arrested in connection with the March 7 death of a 22-year-old man and serious injury of a woman, authorities announced today.

Long Beach detectives arrested Joseph Jeremy Bronson, 25, yesterday and booked him into Long Beach Jail for murder and attempted murder charges, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD). He is being held on $2 million bail.

Bronson is suspected of killing 22-year-old Long Beach resident Trevor McCrainey and seriously injuring a woman in an alley on the 200 block of Liberty Court following an argument at a different location.

Authorities previously called the shooting a possible “incident of road rage.”

3/8/17 at 4:58PM |  A double shooting that led to the death of a man and serious injury of a woman Tuesday may have been the result of road rage.

Police responding to a shots call found the victims in an alley on the 200 block of Liberty Court at 4:12PM, according to a release from the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

The man, identified by the LBPD as 22-year-old Long Beach resident Trevor McCrainey, was determined dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to his upper torso.

The woman, who had gunshot wounds to her upper and lower torso, was transported to a local hospital where she is listed in serious but stable condition.

Authorities are still investigating the motive for the shooting but stated it “may be an incident of road-rage, after the victims and suspect/s got in an argument at a different location just prior to the shooting.”

3/8/17 at 11:38AM | A man killed yesterday in a double shooting that left a woman wounded, was identified today.

Trevor McCrainey, 22, of Westmont, Illinois, died at the scene, the coroner’s office reported.

Officers dispatched to Broadway and Atlantic Avenue at about 4:10PM Tuesday, found McCrainey and a female victim suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Nancy Pratt.

The woman was taken in to a local trauma center in serious but stable condition with gunshot wounds to her upper and lower torso, LBPD Sgt. Brad Johnson said.

3/7/17 at 5:20PM | A man was killed and a woman wounded when they were struck by gunfire in Long Beach Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Officers responded to a shots call on Broadway and Atlantic Avenue at 4:12PM, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Nancy Pratt.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was transported in stable condition to a local trauma center, Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) spokesman Mark Miller said.

Authorities are investigating the incident. A motive for the shooting is not known at this time, Pratt said.
