A man killed last Saturday in a drive-by shooting in Compton Saturday was identified as 32-year-old Andre McMihelk of Long Beach, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office announced.

The shooting took place at 7:38PM Saturday on the 1000 block of Nestor Avenue, according to Deputy Sara Rodriguez of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Witnesses said McMihelk was walking on South Nestor when a dark four-door sedan passed by and then stopped, said Deputy Lisa Jansen. One passenger reportedly then exited the vehicle and fired several times at the man, striking him multiple times.

Rodriguez said McMihelk was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives will continue their investigation.
