A man and woman were injured in North Long Beach Saturday evening during what police believe was a gang-related shooting, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

The shooting happened on the 5400 block of Paramount Boulevard at 6:36PM on Saturday, November 12, LBPD spokesman Sgt. Brad Johnson said.

Arriving officers found two victims, a man who was shot in his lower extremities and a woman who was shot in her lower torso, Johnson said. Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) personnel transported the victims to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

SWAT officers were also activated based on information gathered during the initial investigation stating that a suspect may be inside an apartment, however, personnel did not find a suspect.

Authorities are investigating the shooting as possibly gang-related.
