A man riding a motor scooter was hit by a car near the Broadway Corridor early Sunday morning, police said.

Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officers were dispatched to the scene in the area of Gaviota Avenue and East Broadway at about 1:45AM regarding an injury hit and run involving a vehicle and a motor scooter, said LBPD spokeswoman Marlene Arrona.

Long Beach Fire Department paramedics transported the motor scooter rider to a local hospital for evaluation. 

Arrona said the driver, who fled the scene, was still missing. The possible suspect vehicle is described as a dark sedan with front-end damage, she said.
