Police are investigating a possible gang-related shooting that happened in downtown Long Beach just after midnight on Wednesday, authorities said.

Officers were dispatched to a shots fired call on the 500 block of Cedar Avenue on Wednesday, November 18 at 12:05AM, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Nancy Pratt said.

Arriving officers then found a man who had been shot at while in the alley, but was not struck, Pratt added.

Officials are investigating the incident as possibly gang-related, she said.
