A manager at a Downtown juice shop chased an armed robbery suspect after catching him taking cash from a register Sunday afternoon.

The incident happened Sunday, Dec. 23 at Rainbow Juices at 246 E. Third St. just before 4:30 p.m., according to police.

The suspect, described as a man with a blue sweater and blue jeans, threatened two employees with a knife, according to the business.

He then went behind the counter and followed the cashier into the kitchen as she went to get help from the manager. The robber then went back to the front of the shop, opened the register and took cash out. As he reached for more the manager emerged from the kitchen and chased the robber off.

No customers were inside the business at the time of the incident and no one was injured.

The amount of cash stolen was undisclosed.
