A man was injured during a shooting in Long Beach’s West Side early Thursday morning, authorities said today.

Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) personnel called officers for assistance on the 1900 block of West Willow Avenue at 3:03AM on Thursday, May 26, according to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Marlene Arrona.

Arriving officers found a man with what appeared to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital by paramedics, she said.

Last month, police responded to a non-injury shooting in the same area that resulted in damage to a business.

According to the owner of The Break Room, the April 11 shooting resulted in the unknown assailants hitting the bar’s door twice.

That block houses a general supply store, another bar called Crow’s Nest, an accounting and commercial services business and a few restaurants among others.

The investigation remains ongoing.
