Authorities are looking for whoever opened fire on two men sitting in a driveway near a major Bellflower intersection late Sunday night, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s official said.

The shooting happened some time around midnight near Bellflower Boulevard and Rosecrans Avenue, Sgt. Travis Morrow said.

The gunfire hit one of the victims in the calf and grazed the other man, according to Morrow. It’s not clear what prompted the shooting.

Morrow said both victims were drinking beer and sitting near Bellflower and Rosecrans when two male suspects drove up in a car.

One of the people in the car started firing a handgun before they drove off, according to Morrow. No further description of the car or the gunman was immediately available.

Sheriff’s deputies began investigating after they were alerted to the shooting when the victims arrived at a local hospital, Morrow said.
