Separate shootings that occurred Thursday evening near North Long Beach and MacArthur Park resulted in the injuries of one male juvenile and one man, authorities said.

According to Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) spokeswoman Marlene Arrona, the first shooting occurred at around 5:40PM, when officers were dispatched on a shooting call in the area 200 69th Way, near Compton and North Long Beach.

Upon arrival, officers determined that a car and the man inside the vehicle were struck. The man appeared to be injured in the upper body.

The Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) transported the victim to the hospital and the injury appears to be non-life threatening, according to Arrona. The suspect is outstanding and the investigation is ongoing.

The second shooting occurred around 5:47PM, when officers were dispatched to a shooting call in the area of East 11th Street and Martin Luther King Avenue, Arrona said.

A male juvenile victim with a gunshot injury to the lower extremity was found in the vicinity by arriving officers. The LBFD transported the victim to a local hospital and the injury appears to be non-life threatening, according to Arrona.

The suspect is outstanding and the investigation is ongoing.
