Three people were arrested in a DUI Saturation Patrol operation conducted by the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) over the weekend, authorities announced.

Officers from the LBPD’s Traffic Section conducted the operation on Saturday, August 22, from 7:00PM to 3:00AM in an unspecified area of Long Beach with high frequencies of DUI collisions and/or arrests, police said.

The operation netted the following results:

  • 82 enforcement stops conducted
  • 20 standardized field sobriety tests conducted
  • Three DUI arrests made
  • One citation issued to an unlicensed driver
  • Six traffic citations issues for unsafe driving

Funding for the program is provided by a California Office of Traffic Safety grant, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
