A 65-year-old woman is suspected of fatally stabbed her 93-year-old roommate at a North Long Beach assisted living facility Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The stabbing was reported at 3:17PM at The Chateau of Long Beach, located at 3100 East Artesia Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found the victim, identified as Alice Pritchard, with stab wounds to her upper torso, according to a release from the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

Pritchard was transported to a local hospital by Long Beach paramedics where she was pronounced dead shortly after, authorities stated.

Investigating officers detained 65-year-old Linda Womack, the victim’s roommate, at the scene.

Womack was booked for murder and is being held with a bail of $2 million.

Homicide detectives are investigating the stabbing for which there is no known motive at this time.
