A young man was killed in North Long Beach Monday night in a possible gang-related shooting, authorities said.

Police responded to a shots fired call on the 1200 block of East 52nd Street on Monday, November 9 at 11:00PM, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

Arriving officers discovered the victim—identified as 19-year-old Long Beach resident Jason Beaulieu—on the ground with a gunshot wound to his upper body, officials said.

Paramedics determined Beaulieu dead at the scene.

Officials do not know the motive for the shooting and no suspect information is available.

The incident is being investigated as possibly gang-related.
