A Cypress man was found hanging from a swing set in El Dorado Park early last week in an apparent suicide, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

Officers were dispatched on Sunday, May 22 at 6:23AM to a call about a man who had hanged himself in El Dorado Park, said LBPD Sgt. Brad Johnson. He was found hanging from a swing set in the playground area at one of the park’s reserve sites, Lakeview Grove, he added.

The victim was identified as 29-year-old Cypress resident Rory C. Coe, according to Investigator Lopez of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) personnel determined the victim dead at the scene. The coroner’s office responded to the incident and conducted their investigation, Johnson said.

Authorities said there were no signs of foul play.
