An elderly woman sustained injuries after a duplex she and two others were living in caught on fire in Long Beach early Thursday morning, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to the 1200 block of Myrtle Avenue in Cambodia Town at 6:22AM, arriving at the scene at 6:25AM, Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) spokesman Jake Heflin said.

Responding units found a single-story duplex to the rear of the address ablaze, with significant fire coming from both windows and the front door, according to Heflin. The fire also caused damaged to two vehicles parked outside the unit.

Heflin said the fire was put out at 6:37AM with an “all clear” at 6:37AM. At the height of the fire, 27 firefighters were on scene.

Three adults were displaced by the fire, including a 27-year-old female, 35-year-old male and an 82-year-old female.

The elderly woman was evaluated and transported to a local hospital with complaints of minor injuries, including a small thermal burn, Heflin said.

Fire officials were able to issue a $100 SAVE card.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
