No one was injured in a Tuesday morning structure fire in Long Beach.

The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the scene in the area of Roycroft Avenue and Ocean Boulevard at about 4:35AM to find smoke and fire coming from a detached garage, the Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) said in a statement.

An apartment located directly above the garage “posed an immediate exposure problem,” the LBFD said, and firefighters acted quickly to extinguish the blaze, preventing it from spreading to the upstairs apartment.

There were no injuries to the occupants or firefighters, the LBFD said, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
