Yesterday evening, 450 Long Beach City College (LBCC) graduates participated in the annual Commencement Ceremony at the LBCC Veterans Stadium.
Speakers at the ceremony included Mayor Robert Garcia, co-valedictorians Liam Donohue and Mei Raczkowski.
According to a release issued by LBCC today, of the 1,800 degree and certificate recipients, 1,414 earned Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees. A total of 392 students earned Certificates of Achievement.
Those who earned high honors (from a 3.75 to 3.99 cumulative grade point average, or GPA) numbered 63, while 119 students graduated with honors (3.5 to 3.749 GPA).
A ceremony last week also celebrated transfer students. The release states that about 1,300 students transfer every year to four-year colleges and universities.
