The Downtown Residential Council (DRC) is hosting its 2016 Holiday Party and Silent Auction Fundraiser on Wednesday, December 14 at The Federal Bar from 7:00PM to 10:00PM.

All are invited to the free event to bid on items donated by downtown community residents and businesses. The entirety of funds raised will be used for future downtown neighborhood association projects, according to the DRC.

The DRC acts as a forum for downtown residents to discuss issues and opportunities. A volunteer organization that meets on a monthly basis, it has played a major role in the City of Long Beach Downtown Plan and the Downtown Long Beach Alliance’s property based improvement initiative, according to DRC officials.

“The volunteers in our neighborhood associations have spent countless hours into making our community better, and the Downtown Residential Council wants to be a solid financial resource for our members,” said DRC President Eric Gray in a statement.

The proceeds will go toward funding community projects started through the six neighborhood associations in downtown, Ocean Residents Community Association, Promenade Area Residents Association, East Village Association, North Pine Neighborhood Alliance, West Gateway Community Association, and the Willmore City Heritage Association.
