How strong were Southern California winds on Monday?

Apparently, strong enough to topple over a KFC bucket sign in Long Beach yesterday afternoon.

The incident happened at a KFC restaurant in the city’s Bixby Knolls area, located at 4528 Atlantic Avenue.

No one was injured according to employees and since it happened on private property and there was no criminal activity police were not called to the scene, according to Marlene Arrona of the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD). Long Beach fire personnel were not called either.

A wind advisory from the National Weather Service issued yesterday stated northwest winds were expected to be between 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 miles per hour continuing through early Tuesday morning.
