2,000 airport officials will make their way to Long Beach next week for the 2015 Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) Annual Conference & Exhibition to be held at the Long Beach Convention Center, the City of Long Beach announced Monday. Officially hosted by the Long Beach Airport (LGB) and held October 4 through 7, the event focuses on modern trends in the commercial aviation industry and is one of the largest of its kind worldwide.

“We’re honored to welcome ACI-NA and its attendees to Long Beach for their annual conference, and are very excited to display all that our city and our airport have to offer,” said Mayor Robert Garcia in a statement. “This is yet another opportunity for Long Beach to prove itself as a dynamic host and international tourism destination.”

This is the first time that Long Beach Airport will host the event recently named as one of the 25 fastest growing trade shows in the United States by Trade Show Executive. The 2015 ACI-NA Annual Conference & Exhibition is the premier opportunity for aviation networking, featuring presentations from some of the brightest minds in the industry, according to the announcement.

“Long Beach and its airport deserve a national reputation as one of the most welcoming cities in the country, and this event will go a long way toward making that a reality,” said Congressman Alan Lowenthal in a statement. Lowenthal will deliver opening remarks at the conference on October 5. “I am so pleased that we have the opportunity to present Long Beach Airport to this collection of aviation leaders, and I’m sure that they will come away feeling just as proud of this local jewel as we do.”

The ACI-NA Annual Conference & Exhibition draws participants from 200 airports across the United States and Canada and is consistently one of the foremost authorities on new and emerging technologies in the commercial aviation industry.

Airport Director Bryant L. Francis, C.M. says the conference is a great opportunity for LGB to make its mark on the industry.

“As a longtime attendee of the ACI-NA annual conference, and a member of the ACI-NA Board of Directors, I understand the importance of this event and the spotlight being placed upon the host city,” he said in a statement. “Everyone at Long Beach Airport is eager to put our highly regarded, award-winning travel experience on display against the backdrop of the City’s gorgeous waterfront and resurging Downtown.”

Long Beach Airport welcomes ACI-NA attendees and encourages them to enjoy the Long Beach, as well as the historic terminal and concourse modernization that has earned local, national and international awards.
