DMV

The Long Beach Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will close Friday, October 30 at noon for system updates and renovations and will reopen in mid-February, DMV officials confirmed Tuesday morning.

The DMV, located at 3700 East Willow Street, will close so that DMV officials can replace damaged furniture, incorporate a new design to increase customer flow and efficiency, and update flooring, painting and cabling to accommodate new interior design, according to DMV spokesman Jaime Garza.

Officials urge residents to use services at neighboring DMV offices in the interim, specifically at field offices in Bellflower, Compton, Torrance, San Pedro and Westminster.

“Also, we always encourage customers to go online to renew driver licenses and registrations,” said Garza. “These are two of many services offered to our customers at www.dmv.ca.gov.”
