LBPFlogo-452x951The Long Beach Police Foundation (LBPF), a 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit and the only charitable organization that provides private, direct funding for the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD), announced Thursday that Fueling California has donated $10,000 to support ongoing fundraising efforts.

Fueling California: Consumer Alliance for Responsible Fuel Policies, is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization engaging actively on behalf of major fuel consumers “in the debate on public policies regarding the cost, availability, and supply of fuel, as well as advancing alternative fuels and technologies.”

fueling-ca-logoExecutive Director of Fueling California Austin Lee, said in an earlier press statement, “Fueling California is very pleased to provide a $10,000 donation to assist the Long Beach Police Foundation’s efforts to support the Long Beach Police Department as they protect and serve their community.

He added, “With the economic troubles facing our state and local governments it is important that organizations like Fueling California, as well as private corporations, lend their support to help vital public services like public safety.”

According to the release, the funds will assist with the latest equipment, training and technology for the LBPD.

“The City of Long Beach is home to one of the finest law enforcement organizations in the nation, the Long Beach Police Department,” said Bruce Mac Rae, chairman of the Board for LBPF, in a statement. “And the foundation is committed to building a safer community through donations that enhance the Long Beach Police Department’s ability to perform at the highest level.”

Mac Rae noted that contributions and funding also subsidize community outreach programs supported by the LBPD.

“LBPF is dedicated to supporting our men and women at the Long Beach Police Department,” Mac Rae concluded.
