With school years soon coming to a close, many sports seasons are coming down to the wire in tight races for the CSULB baseball and softball teams, as well as LBCC softball.  Each game counts more and more as the end draws near, but never fear!  LBPOSTSports.com has you covered, looking back on the great seasons that were and looking ahead to the upcoming showdowns that will crown champions.

Click here for my piece about an impressive list of conference awards given to the CSULB baseball and softball.  Be sure to keep an eye on the smoking-hot Dirtbags this weekend in Cal Poly SLO, and the softball team (recent conference champions) traveling to Iowa to take on Creighton in the NCAA Regionals as they march towards NCAA Championships.  And don’t forget about LBCC softball, who will represent Long Beach this weekend in the California State Championships

Oh, but that’s not all.

In this week’s Sports Night podcast, J.J., Sergio and I break down the latest and greatest in all local Long Beach sports, including an appearance by local celebrity Dr. Dan!  In case you have never heard of the sport of golfbefore, former 49er Paul Goydos nearly captured The Players’ Championship before falling to Sergio Garcia in a sudden-death playoff – all while sporting a Long Beach Dirtbags cap he purchased himself just before the round!

We muse on the aura of Goydos and dive into the continuing O.J. Mayo saga.  What does it all mean for the USC athletic program, still mired in controversy over a similar situation with Reggie Bush?  And whos really to blame when young athletes are showered with gifts?  Listen in and let us know how you feel!

The temperature is rising in the air and on the field, so stay tuned to LBPOSTSports.com for all the latest news and info.
